Sheryl Y. Daniel
Pre-Licensed Clinician
As a Pre-Licensed Clinician and Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at The Chicago School, I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care that honors each individual’s unique life experience.
I am particularly interested in working with folks from marginalized communities and understand the unique challenges of being successful while dealing with the broad reaching impact of systemic inequities.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered, trauma-informed, and holistic practices that consider the emotional, physical, social, and spiritual factors that impact a person’s well-being. I also integrate Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), which emphasizes the healing power of relationships and the importance of building meaningful connections in therapy.
I believe that we grow and heal through connection, and that feeling disconnected or marginalized can deeply affect our mental health. As a therapist, I work to help clients build stronger, more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals from underrepresented and equity-seeking groups, helping them navigate the complexities of success, marginalization, and identity. Whether it’s coping with the pressures of representation, juggling multiple roles, facing micro-aggressions, or feeling isolated, I aim to create a space where these experiences can be explored, understood, and healed.
