Lorin L. Jimenez
Director of Clinical Development
MA, LCPC, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in DC and a Licensed Clinical Professional
Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors in
Psychology and went on to complete a Master of Science in Marriage, Couples, and Family
Counseling from Walden University. I am a former professional ballroom dancer who still loves
to dance. I’m a mother and wife who prioritizes time for my passions and my family.
As an enthusiastic and engaged therapist, I am energized by working with adolescents,
adults, couples, and families as they explore and repair the relationships they have within
themselves as well as the relationships they have with the people in their life. I have extensive
experience working with clients facing a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, depression,
bipolar disorder, interpersonal relationship difficulties, parent-child relationship struggles,
sexual dysfunction, trauma, LGBTQIA+ specific issues, and life transitions. I use an eclectic
approach composed of Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Internal Family Systems. I am
EMDR trained and working towards certification and very much enjoy incorporating EMDR into
the work we do. Most importantly, I believe in working with my clients to discover which
proven approach best fits their needs and personality and I work with my clients to set
personalized and achievable goals.
I believe strongly in the importance of clinical supervision and the opportunities this
relationship offers the developing clinician. As a clinical supervisor, I strive to create
relationships with new clinicians that foster growth professionally and personally. I work to help
the clinician identify and develop their existing strengths and natural curiosities. I challenge
clinicians as they develop and encourage them to lean into their fears. My hope is to help send
well-supported, confident, and well-trained clinicians out into a world that greatly needs them.
